Is your idea patentable?

May 15th, 2008 · No Comments

Nearly 75% of all patent applications have been denied a grant.  People often get upset or disgruntled because their prized invention has been deemed unacceptable by the patent office.  Situations like this lead to the utter frustration of inventors across the nation.

Part of the reason people are often denied a grant for their novel ideas is that they don’t properly research the requirements for the patentability of an invention.  Some of the requirements include the subject matter of the product or idea, its usefulness and also whether or not it marks an “inventive step.”  The inventive integrity of the idea is vetted by the assign patent examiner.

It is always a good idea, if you have an invention, the consult a patent lawyer or patent agent before proceeding to file for a patent grant.  For more information, please contact the patent lawyers of the Williams Kherkher law firm at 860.950.9000.
